Welcome to First Baptist New Bern where we are listening, learning and linking to God and neighbor in order to fulfill the Great Commission according to the Great Commandment!

This Sunday, March 14, is Youth Sunday.

The scripture readings are Jeremiah 1:4-9
and Matthew 4:18-22

The sermon title is "When Faith Takes Flight,"
delivered by Duncan Price.

  Upcoming Events

This Sunday, March 7th -

we will observe The Lord's Supper (Communion) in both worship services. The focal text is Exodus 20:13, "You shall not murder." Consider the many ways that we "take a life," and what ways we are called to seek to "give life." Each commandment with a negative prohibition implicitly requires a positive counteraction.   Dr. Fitzgerald

Heck Jones offering for WMUNC -

Please consider contributing to the Heck Jones offering which supports the work of the Woman's Missionary Union of North Carolina. We had a marvelous sermon by one of their board members, Kimberly Overton, this past Sunday. She is a fine example of WMUNC with her deep passion for sharing Christ with the lost, the least and the last. She is leading an effort by WMUNC to develop a specific ministry for professional women. The WMUNC needs your funds to continue to teach our children and provide wonderful opportunities for all women to grow in Christ and share the love, grace and mercy of Jesus with those in our State.

Dr. Fitzgerald.

Garden Concert -

The Craven Indoor Percussion, an ensemble made up primarily of students from the Craven County School System and the surrounding Crystal Coast area, will perform on Friday, March 12, from 5:00–8:00 PM in our garden.

Make an evening of it and attend part of the percussion ensemble and then come on over to the Family Life Center for a spaghetti supper and great entertainment.

INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY -

It has been the policy of the church to let the congregation know of cancellation to worship services via this website and WCTI Channel 12 news. The Deacon's now have a formal call list that will enable us to attempt to contact all our members by phone. If you do not have a voice mail, you need to check WCTI Channel 12 website, or view the televised closings, or visit our website. If you have friends who visit our church, but are not members, it would be helpful for you to let them know of any interruptions in regular scheduled services due to inclement weather. Thank you for your faith, your love and your patience!
