Available classes for Fall 2009
1) Esther: Its Tough Being a Woman - Facilitated by Kim Wynn
This Beth Moore study of Esther peels back the history behind this amazing woman and shows us how Esther's story carries many parallels for our own lives. If ever you have felt inadequate, threatened, or pushed into a situation that seems overwhelming - this is the study for you. It was tough being a woman in Esther's day and it's tough today. This story from God's word has treasures that will aid in our hurried, harried, and pressured lives.
2) The Man God Uses - Group Leader TBA
This is a daily study guide for men who are searching to serve God at home, at work, in the church, and in the community. Scriptural analysis and prayer helps enhance the sense of God's daily presence with strong counsel for all who are longing to fulfill their will in Him. In the study, Dr. Blackaby will explain God's process of refining and show how He can transform ordinary men into extraordinary forces for good in the world.
3) Five Conversations You Must Have with Your Daughter - Group Leader TBA
For mothers with girls from newborns to teens, this is a must-take class. This book will help moms pinpoint and prepare for discussions that are most important in the formative years. This study seeks to address the changing social and spiritual influences your daughter faces. Topics include growing up, beauty, virtue, marriage, and motherhood.
4) Freed Up Financial Living - Facilitated by Bill Austin
This enriching study will examine Biblical principals on earning, giving, saving, spending, and reducing debt. It also incorporates practical tips for achieving your own personal, financial, and spiritual goals. This is a great opportunity for all members of the church.
5) Faith and Reason: A Study of Christian Apologetics - Facilitated by Phil Smith
In today's pluralistic society, not every apporach to sharing the gospel will work with all people. Christians should "always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give a reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect." (1 Peter 3:15). But do you know what you believe and why you believe it? In this study we will use Doug Powell's book, Holman QuickSource Guide to Apologetics, as a guide to answer many crucial quesitons such as:
- Does faith and reason conflict?
- Does God exist?
- Which God exists?
- Is the Bible reliable?
- Was Jesus more than man?
- Are miracles possible?
- Was Jesus raised from the dead?
- Is Christianity the only true religion?
- How can God allow evil pain and suffering?
