Worship at First Baptist Church is traditional in style at the 11:00 AM service, and nontraditional at the 8:45 AM service. Each of our services are fashioned around the goal to enable an encounter of worship with our living Trinity.
At the 8:45 AM service, we have a Worship Music Team that leads songs on a weekly basis. They primarily use acoustic guitars, piano and keyboard, as well as vocals. The songs are contemporary and upbeat. The Worship Music Team is occasionally assisted by the Youth/Parent Choir and the Adult Ensemble. The movement of this worship service is around listening (to God and neighbor), learning (from God and neighbor) and linking (to God and neighbor). This service offers various options for the congregation to respond to at the end of the service. This service is causal in dress and sermons are delivered from the floor level.
During the 11:00 AM service, the Sanctuary Choir provides the primary music leadership in worship. They are assisted at times by the Adult Ensemble and Handbell choir. Varied anthems from the past and the present bring honor and dignity to the One that we worship. The Zimmer Pipe Organ provides accompaniment for congregational hymn singing, and the Steinway Grand Piano is used throughout all services to enhance the worship experience.
