The Church shall be a dynamic spiritual body, missionary in spirit, empowered by the Holy Spirit, to share Christ with and minister to as many people as possible in our Church, community, and throughout the world.
First Baptist Church, located in the heart of historic downtown New Bern, is a part of the body of Christ. This is a place where persons can come together within a loving congregation to fashion our lives after Christ’s and to embrace our world with God’s transforming love. We are a people committed to knowing Christ and making Christ known.
Being missional is a fundamental reality of our Christian life together at First Baptist Church. We believe God wants us to make a difference in our neighborhood, country, and world through the faithful use of our time, talents, resources and very lives. We have a long tradition of supporting Christian missions in New Bern and around the world.
