Giving is an act of righteousness that comes from our duty as humans to help others; it is also called Charity. The Lord loves a cheerful giver (2 Corinthians 2:7). It delights Him to see His people gladly opening their hearts and hands to provide for the needs of His Church and indeed of all His creatures. 

 

Giving our tithes and offerings reflects a grateful heart that wants to give back to God a portion of what He has given us. This is our opportunity to show God that He is first in our lives. The Bible says the purpose of tithing is to teach us always to put God first in our lives (Deuteronomy 14:23 TLB). Tithing is a reminder that God is the supplier of everything we have. It is also God’s personal invitation to an outpouring of His blessing in our lives.
